Each National Weather Service (NWS) office administers its own SkywarnTM Program and partners with ham radio operators in the establishment and maintenance of the amateur radio SkywarnTM Net at the local level in its area of responsibility. The NWS Pendleton office directs the overall activities of its SkywarnTM Program. Hams organize, implement, and manage the operations of their local SkywarnTM Net themselves, in coordination with the NWS Pendleton office. The Pendleton, Oregon NWS office has weather forecasting and warning responsibility for 19 counties in Central, North Central, and Northeast Oregon as well as South Central and Southeast Washington. The counties highlighted in yellow on the map below are in Pendleton's County Warning and Forecast Area. If you would like more information about the SkywarnTM Program in the counties highlighted in yellow, contact the Warning Coordination Meteorologist at the NWS Pendleton office at this phone number: 541-276-7832, x223.
